Create your own Whale Pots 11 April 2024
Join our immersive ceramic hand-building workshop and bring your creative vision to life by crafting beautiful pinch pot whales! This engaging workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the art of ceramics while creating your own pod of whales using the pinch pot technique.
Limited to a maximum class size of 10 participants, our workshop ensures a personalised and enriching experience. With two skilled instructors by your side, you will receive expert guidance and assistance throughout the entire process, ensuring that you achieve your desired results.

During the workshop, you will be able to make a small and large whale pot, to see these pieces click here. You will learn the fundamental techniques of hand building with stoneware clay, focusing specifically on the pinch pot method. This versatile technique involves shaping clay by hand, using your fingers and thumbs to create organic and expressive forms.
At the end of the workshop you will leave your whales with our team to be glazed and fired. This process can take up to 4 weeks. We provide a range of in-house glazes for you to choose from to bring your creations to life.
Approximately 2-4 weeks later you can collect your finished pieces, ready to be displayed or gifted to loved ones. For those unable to collect their artwork in person, we offer the option of shipping the pieces to your preferred location, with an additional charge for postage.
Clay can get messy so we would suggest you wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
The workshop is to make a small and large whale which we will glaze for you. When collecting after firing you can choose one air plant for your whale. Additional air plants can be purchased on request.
As clay can be unpredictable, we cannot guarantee your results after firing - but it's what makes the process so interesting!

Cancellations are non-refundable (however in the event we are able to refill your place we are happy to refund in full).
In the unlikely event we have to cancel the workshop you will be offered a full refund or the option of attend a future class. All participants must be 16 years of age or over.
