Mass-produced jewellery might be easy to find, but it often lacks the character and soul of a handmade piece. All of our ceramic jewellery is made by hand in our Devon studio, where we shape, glaze, and fire every item ourselves. We don’t use moulds or machines; just traditional tools, a kiln, and a whole lot of care.
Working in small batches means we can focus on the detail. It also means each earring, necklace or ring is slightly different. One glaze might run a little longer. Another might come out with a richer colour. These variations aren’t flaws, they’re what make your jewellery truly yours.
Each piece begins with raw clay, shaped by hand into its final form. Once it’s dried to the perfect consistency, it’s fired in the kiln to harden it into ceramic. Then comes the magic of glazing.
We use layered glazes to create rich colours and textures inspired by the natural world, think turquoise lagoons, soft pink sunsets, or cool coastal greys. The glazes melt in the heat of the kiln, flowing and settling in ways we can never fully control. That unpredictability is what gives every piece its individuality.
After glazing, we add delicate details like real gold lustre or sterling silver hooks to finish. This mix of traditional techniques and modern design gives our jewellery its distinctive Habulous style.
