Ionantha Air Plant

The Ionantha air plant has typically green tendrils, sometimes with a frosty, silvery base. The Rubra variation tends to have more noticeable red tips to the tendrils and is often be larger with looser base tendrils - these can be gently peeled off if browning without affecting the rest of the plant.

When blooming, the Ionantha produces a purple shoot tipped with a small white/yellow flower in the centre of the plant.

The Ionantha variety of air plant loves sunlight, so it's best to keep yours in a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight, with good air circulation. They should be misted with water weekly, and soaked for an hour in water every 1-2 months. It is essential the plant is left to fully dry to prevent any rot.

An air plant is perfect for a terrarium or replacing your Habulous Air Plant Jellyfish. Air plants are great little pieces for home decor as they are low maintenance: they require no soil, simply watering and light as mentioned above.
